On Tuesday afternoon, we started our new topic in Science: Sound. We got to explore and play with lots of different instruments, including triangles, drums, tambourines, a violin, a cello and a piano. We discovered that vibration creates sound, and that is how we were able to make music with our instruments. With the violin and the cello, we were able to see the vibration of the strings when they were played with the bow or plucked. Miss Lloyd took the top off the piano so we were able to see the hammers hitting the strings inside when a note was pressed. We were fascinated! Some of us even had a go at playing some of the instruments and saw how we created the vibrations, which in turn, created music! We all had so much fun!
